I am a Pacific Northwest local. I have lived in Washington and Oregon most of my life, until I joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where I was given the opportunity to travel the country and live in some truly beautiful places.
In my civilian life, I have worked quite a bit in customer service. Serving the public has taught me about the importance of listening, asking questions and showing empathy. The Coast Guard afforded me many opportunities to hone my leadership skills. These skills continue to serve me well to this day.
I have many interests outside of work that include cooking and baking. Both of these hobbies have taught me patience and the importance of not being afraid to make mistakes. I am also an avid runner. What started out as a way for me to stay in shape has become an integral part of my life. During my time off I can often be found out and about on a run or figuring out where the next marathon will be.
As a teenager, I always wanted to attend Washington State University. I feel fortunate to now be a WSU alum and also a Digital Technology and Culture graduate.
